Dear Caron,
I am an RN and just started a new job in a mental health facility. The focus is on children and adolescence. We do a daily "group" with them. We may pick the topic the only criteria being "education" of some sort. I wanted to offer some valuable coping skills kids could use. So, I went to the computer and spent over an hour clicking on lists of Internet items looking for help. I was getting very tired and needed to go to bed. When bingo" I found your article on kids, trauma, and coping skills! I just wanted to say a great big thank-you for your helpful article!
Sincerely ,
Charlotte Rogers

Review by Anna Stewart

Book Review - Makin' Lemonade

These recent weeks have challenged our personal values, riled our emotions, and have us questioning the stability of our reality. There is only one place to turn for strength and balance and that place is inward. Amidst the changing world, you remain, and right now, you might need some grounding and a reality check.

"If you need something to change, think about what you can do," said Wenda T. Holcomb to her granddaughter, Keri, over a glass of home made lemonade on a hot, humid summer afternoon in Kansas.

Let us see our current challenge as an opportunity to examine our lives, renew our commitments, clarify our values, and look at our goals. Turn inward, review, and start anew.

Makin' Lemonade gives you the space and direction to do just that: take stock in all the areas of your life. It devotes chapters to individual topics like Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, Social, Spiritual, Professional, Financial, and still more. The book offers questions to help you evaluate where you are and where you want to go. Then the author walks you through the Lemonade Matrix to make appropriate choices and take the action that is right for you.

Makin Lemonade is written in a relaxed style, inviting readers to take their time, reflect, write, or come back to it later. They will go away from Makin' Lemonade with new recipes for life and renewed spirit—something we all need right now!

Making' Lemonade is available on the Book page in Tools & Gifts. Be sure to check it out.
